MORE THAN A MILE

Inspired by Sir Murray Halberg’s famous mile, this is about more than just running, walking, or rolling 1.6km. It’s about raising funds so young Kiwis with physical disabilities can participate fully in P.E and sport at school, just like their peers.

MORE THAN A MILE

The Halberg Mile is a nationwide fundraising event where schools across Aotearoa unite to make sport inclusive for everyone.

Held around 3 December – International Day of Persons with Disabilities, students run, walk, or roll one mile around their school track, field, or grounds.

And, it’s about more than just covering 1.6km. Too many young people with physical disabilities miss out on the joy and benefits of sport at school. By taking part, your school helps change that.

Funds raised will support the Halberg Foundation’s work to provide schools with the tools and support they need so that every student can play, participate, and thrive.
